The “yes” of the Municipality of San Teodoro also arrives at the initiative carried out by the association “Sardinia towards Unesco” to which the council and the regional council and more than 300 Sardinian municipalities have joined.
The initiative plans to nominate the Sardinian cultural landscape to the attention of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The UNESCO recognition would raise even more the important value of the Sardinian cultural landscape and would also allow a more responsible and planned use so that even the cultural sites become real tourist attractions.
“San Teodoro also has a Nuragic and pre-Nuragic heritage in its territory that we hope to be able to enhance as soon as possible. Already the islet of Proratora (in front of Punta Est) has been the subject of excavations that we would like to resume in a short time.”
These are the words of Luciana Cossu, Councilor for Tourism and Culture of the municipality of San Teodoro.
